the "muffed punt" call
for those who had no clue what i was referring to in my rant here is a link that shows a vid of the play plus an article about it:

the punt was shorter than expected and although jennings obviously wanted to try to catch the short punt to give the falcons good field position it was too short for him to catch and the ball bounced dangerously close to him. the punt however never touched him. coach smith had used his last time out just before the punt figuring it was 2:30. the punt would bring it down to 2:22 or so. the falcons would run one or two plays (depending on sidelines or incomplete or not) then the 2 minute warning would come up and stop the clock. good game time management right? well unluckily for the falcons this CALL happened and the falcons couldn't review it because they were out of time outs. after the 2 minute mark EVERYTHING can be reviewed automatically upstairs.
bad calls happened (one for sure on a hit went against the eagles) but hopefully they will get this rule adjusted to keep this from happening in the future.
